Engineering is the profession of acquiring and applying technical, scientific and mathematical principles to design, develop and implement structures, machines, apparatus, and systems, utilizing them singly or in combination, that safely realize a desired objective. The broad discipline of engineering encompasses a range of more specialized subdisciplines, each with a more specific emphasis on certain fields of application and particular areas of technology.
Although initially an engineer will be trained in a specific discipline, throughout his/her career the engineer may become multi-disciplined, having worked in several areas. Some of the main disciplines include aerospace engineer, chemical engineer, civil engineer, electrical engineer, and mechanical engineer. With the rapid advancement of technology many new fields are gaining prominence and new branches are developing such as computer engineering, software engineering, and molecular engineering.
Computers and software play an increasingly important role in engineering. One of the most widely used tools in the profession is computer-aided design (CAD) software which enables engineers to create 3D models, 2D drawings, and schematics of their designs. CAD together with Digital mockup (DMU) and CAE software such as finite element method analysis or analytic element method allows engineers to create models of designs that can be analyzed without having to make expensive and time-consuming physical prototypes. It also allows forensic engineers to look at failed models to understand the design defects.
Engineering licensure in the United States remains largely optional for the vast majority of practicing engineers not directly working on projects deemed to implicate "public health and safety" (this typically covers civil engineers and government contractors). This is known as the "industry exemption." And even for such public-safety projects, it is often sufficient for only the supervising engineer to have a license. However, becoming a "Registered Professional Engineer" is still often pursued as a professional credential for prestige, even when not actually required for particular employment.

Root canal treatment is probably the most feared of all dental procedures, and with good reason: it usually takes a while and it usually hurts for a while afterwards. Dental root canal treatment is one of the least pleasant aspects of dentistry, both for patient and dentist, since it involves the actual removal of gum and root matter, a surgical procedure, ...
It used to be a promising thing to be a real estate agent. That was before the economy tanked on the realty market, and numerous agents found themselves with bleak financial futures.
But things are looking up. The economy is recovering, slowly but steadily, and real estate is beginning to spread its wings again. In fact...
A personal injury attorney is an attorney that specializes in cases where a client has sustained physical and/or psychological damage due to the negligent or willful conduct of others. Finding legal advice for free is somewhat difficult. After all, time is money to a lawyer. Giving advice is a large part of what they do to earn a living, and they are not apt to give it out for free. The old adage that you get what you pay for can also be true. Advice from the best legal experts can be costly, but is usually equally as valuable. ...
